Last Minute Homework (shakespearean sonnet)

Last minute homework it always happens,
When you've left it off till the last minute,
All these weeks you have never imagined,
Thinking that the time you had left was infinite.

You don't know how much work has to be done,
Until the night before and you start to work,
Spend the whole night working it is not fun,
Parents say "I told you so" with a smirk.

You work all night doing the best you can,
Knowing you wont get the best mark ever,
But getting a passing mark is your plan,
Thinking "I'll never do this again-- Never".

You've finally finished all your homework,
Now that your done that is the only perk.

Towers falling down,
Tragedy for everyone,
Despair and no hope.

Sick (free verse)

Your body is bi-polar,
Hot, cold, sneezing, coughing,
Sick is the pilot of your body.

Untitled (haiku)

A juicy apple,
A very ripe tomato,
A small ladybug.

Dandelion (quatrain)

One single dandelion in the middle of a field,
Green grass growing and one single weed,
Hovering over the blades of grass around it like a shield,
Maybe this dandelion is all we need.

Thinking (haiku)

Thoughts flying around,
Deep thoughts about everything,
Talking with yourself.

Rain (free verse)

If you can't read it clearly, the poem is:
Rain falling.
A lot like people:
People they fall but get back up.
Eventually.

Bakery (free verse)

Smelling all of the baked goods,
Looking around at all of the breads and cookies,
You can hear the ingredients being mixed together,
Touch the glass to point at the food you wish to buy.

Have You Ever Wondered? (free verse)

Have you ever wondered,
How different life would be,
If you were always happy?

You would have never felt pain,
You would regret nothing.
It would be like eating whatever you want and staying the same size.
Skipping school or breaking the rules with no consequences.
Reading a book with no interuptions.
Like sleeping in and realising the day is jus beginning.

Flowers in the spring,

So much starts with a hello.

It's like an opening sentence of a great book,

Or the first line in a play.
The introduction.
When all the judging starts to begin,
Deciding if your going to like what is about to happen.

Happiness (shakesperean sonnet)

Happiness is accepting the bad times,
Enjoying all the good that makes up smile,
It can be running the extra mile,
Or finally coming up with a new line,

Happiness can be being with your friends,
It can be shopping by yourself for fun,
Being healthy and going for a run,
Or when the big snowstorm comes to and end.

Going on a trip or an adventure,
Doing all of the things that you love,
Things are right you thank the heavens above,
Or when someone is sick and you find a cure.

Happiness is different for everyone,
And it is very easy to be done.

Summer (haiku)

No school for two months,
No responsibilities,
Hanging out with friends.

I write all day,
While I'm in school,
At home I"d rather stay,
Or go swimming in a pool.

When people have unattractive eyes,
It makes me want to cry,
Or eat pie.

Today I saw a bird,
It did not say a word,
All it did was chirp,
It didn't even burp.

Fish (quatrain)

Oh how I wish,
I had a fish,
To swim with me,
Amazing it would be.

Happy is smiling,

Looking past imperfections,
Bright eyed, excited.

about my blog

Hey this is about my blog. I chose the name "just keep swimming" because it is a quote that everyone knows and I think everyone should live by. It's telling you to just keep going even though times get tough and  that you can get through it. My blog and poems will be about almost everything and not about one specific theme so I can write about anything that I'm thinking about or feeling at the time. The background of  my blog reminded me of the dots you see on a sunny day and that reminds me of being happy. :)
